You might be wondering who MINDxSTORM is and where did he come from. Well, a little mystique is good, but I'll give you a hint. I'm a normal guy who has rediscovered toys, and likes collecting the cool ones. I was never into collecting much of anything. I have always admired scale military models though. I've been casually collecting 12-inch figures since Jan. 2000. About a year later I started to gain an interest in kitbashing which is mixing and matching uniforms, gear, and weapons from different figures to create a unique one-of-a-kind custom figure. When customizing these 12" figures I treat them as models. I have been mainly interested in modern military Special Ops, CT, and SWAT themes up until now. I also have a small collection of military vehicles from 21st Century Toys 1:32X scale, bbi 1:18 scale and Armoury Die cast 1:48 scale aircaft. Lately, I've been getting into collecting the DC comic super heros and movie stuff too. I'm enjoying a bit of variety for a change. I try not to go crazy with a completest mind set. I may see something that looks cool and pick it up once in a while. Ahhh the smell of freshly opened toys, ha ha. Look for a link to my other toy collections soon, named Toy Trip or something like that. :)

My first experience with 1/6 scale figures was playing with Hasbro GI Joes as a kid growing up full of imagination. Many, many years later while looking through the JC Pennies Christmas Catalog 1999 I saw the 21st Century Toys SWAT Commander, "They're really making that stuff now?" It became my first 12-inch figure as a big kid. Christmas 1999 was a "GI Joe" Christmas like years long past. I have at last count over 150 figures. My modest collection began with many of the original modern 21st-Century Toys uniform sets on 21st figures. Later in the year 2000 bbi began producing figures for the specialty market. I then found DML, Hot Toys, ect. My collection also includes about 25 or so kitbashed and custom figures which are among my favorite for obvious reasons.

I have fond childhood memories of visiting the "Motts Miniatures" exhibit at Knott's Berry Farm. I remember the rows and rows of realistic miniature diorama displays of houses and General Stores with all their tiny scale items. It was a delightful experience. I think some of those same feelings are present when working with the 1/6 scale figures and toys. I really like the miniature detail aspect of the 1/6 hobby. "It looks so real, but it's just smaller." It's definitely a big kid thing!

I hope you enjoy my website MINDxSTORM.com.
