bbi Night Vision Goggle Modification
This is a fairly straight forward modification you can do on the bbi Night Vision Monocular that came with Night Ops SEAL"Owl" and some of the recent releases like bbi "Gunslinger" 10th SF. Turning bbi's M982/M983 Night Vision Monocular into the M953 Night Vision Binocular is a cool mod on an already cool piece of 1/6 gear.
bbi's 1/6 NVG "Single Tube"
1. The bbi monocular can be mounted for right or left handed use. Viewing from an upside down angle you'll see the left handed mount. Remove it by pulling it off, it should come easy by hand.
2. The right tube has been removed as well only for clarity sake. You'll now need to create a notch identical to the one on the left. This new notch will accept your new "Left tube". You will need to make it deep enough to accept the short stub that protrudes from the side of the spare tube, you will need to barrow one from another extra set of NVG's. Save all your extra parts.
3. Now that you finished making the extra notch (new notch not shown in the pic but I think you get the idea) glue the now left handed tube into the new notch. A little extra glue helps to fill up the larger new notch. It should go together fairly tight and you won't be able to see much if any difference from how the right handed tube is mounted. If you desire a touch of black paint can be applied to hide any visible glue in the notches joint.
4. After applying the glue and setting the tube in place, flip the now binocular over to allow the glue to set up as the whole piece is on a level surface. I use 3M Super Adhesive which is like a gel and sets up quickly. Once my glue is holding firm but has not dried, carefully mount the binocular on the figure and adjust the angle of the tubes to line up with your figures line of sight. This helps the goggle to look right on your particular figures face and makes sure the tube is drying straight and even.
5. If you want to use the binoculars on a DML mount simply remove the DML NVG's mounting plate off of any DML NVG and glue it on top of the bbi mount. That's it.
Here's a few pics of the bbi binocular on a DML NVG Mount
Now you have yourself a AN-PVS-15 Binocular Night Vision!
