SAS Scud Hunters Custom Details
Special Comments: These are the 21st Century Toys Scud Hunter boxed figures rescued from the bargan rack back in late Dec. 2001. After switching out the Super Soldier bodies in favor of the bbi G1's, most of the time was spent experimenting with acrylic paints to weather the headsculpts. This was one of my first attempts at doing any real headsculpt modifying. For the goatee and dirty faced trooper I used brushed water colors. For the bearded trooper I used all acrylic paints. Basically this is just some of my early experimenting. It seems a bit behind the times now considering the current 1/6 hobby trends of using cloth fibers, and hair to make beards. The whole idea for these figures was inspired from the box art which showed a gruff looking trooper with a goatee coming up over a ridge as A-10 Warhogs attack a Scud missle launcher in the back ground in the Iraqi Desert presumably during the 1991 Gulf War.-mxs
